Batik Artisan…

On one of our Balinese explorations, we stopped at a batik artisan community.  Batik is an ancient Indonesian technique for creating beautiful fabrics.  It is a process of applying wax on fabric, dying the fabric, and where the wax is, the fabric resists the dye. This process can be done over and over to create complex designs.  Here are a few images of some women demonstrating the technique…
