Heading South for more TN Small Towns…

On this day after the day after Christmas, I arose early and headed south towards the Alabama line in search of a few more towns on my list of TN Small Towns. My first stop was Elkton situated on the banks of the Elk River.  I arrived as the sun was rising and shot a few images in the town proper.  Then I made my way to the bridges that span the nearby river.

After stopping for a breakfast biscuit and a diet Mt. Dew, I made my way to Minor Hill, my next small town.  I came around a bend in the road discovered a group of horses on a valley farm and an old barn next to flowing creek.  In the city, I found a seemingly mislabeled business.

The 3rd town I visited was Ethridge, an Amish and Antique Store community of less than 500 residents. What did I find there?  Not surprisingly, I found an Amish farms, including one working as a lumber mill, and antique stores. On my way out of town, some power lines caught my attention.

Last on my my list of towns to visit was Lynnville with a population of less than 300. A stately old barn, subtlety decorated for Christmas, greets visitors as they approach along Yorkley Road.  In the town, a large green commercial building caught my eye as the rain began to pour.
